What it is

A modern 169-room hideaway with a rooftop restaurant set within four 19th-century buildings in Old Montreal.

What it isn't

Lacking in anything. On the premises, you’ll find a hammam vaporium and a spanking new Japanese eatery with 25 sake varieties.

What we think

It is perhaps a testament to this hotel’s fabulousness that every Monday, at 7 a.m., they host a running group that tours the ancient city, home to French settlers since 1642. But there’s plenty here to love for couch potatoes as well: even starter rooms are fitted with walk-in rain showers, exposed brick walls, and goose down comforters. Continental breakfast is served free every morning at Paris-inspired Brasserie 701, wifi is free, and concierge service is Clef d’Or ranked (meaning: the best in the world). And with a lauded on-site Izakaya restaurant and rooftop cocktail bar open till 3 a.m. on weekends, you’ll find yourself rubbing elbows with the city’s cool kids—all within an easy stroll of bed.

You're here because

You adore a hammam, and the hotel spa’s is particularly lovely, scented as it is with eucalyptus and fresh steam. It’s the ideal place to unwind before a Moor Mud body wrap.

The Moment

As twilight falls over the city, there’s nowhere you’d rather be than the hotel’s rooftop terrace, where raspberry mojitos are the signature cocktail and charcuterie and fromage flows like wine. Tonight, stars twinkle above as you take another sip of your prosecco and begin to feel all twinkly yourself. #Vacation!
