Lazy. Gym-addicts will find plenty to love here, including a 4,240-square-foot fitness studio equipped with pro trainers, an al fresco yoga area, and in-the-know staff who can point you to the best biking trails and kayaking in town.

What we think

Among the jewels in the ever-glittering crown that is JW Marriott, their Parq Vancouver outpost is especially dazzling. Take the guest rooms, with floor-to-ceiling windows, illy espresso makers, Molten Brown toiletries and streamlined furniture in a palette of creams and blondes. Standard rooms start at 380 square feet, so for roomier digs we recommend booking the 548-square-foot One Bedroom Suite with a Water View: you’ll have a prime corner panorama over poetically named False Creek, plus a spa-like marble lined bathroom with a spacious soaking tub and a separate living area practically tailor-made for cocktail parties—or just ordering room service, throwing on your robe and slippers, and watching the sky turn pink at sunset.

Tonight, at locavore-leaning Honey Salt, you’re perched on a circular avocado green banquette sipping a Winter Whisky Sour (with Ontario’s Collingwood whiskey, roasted pecan, and rosemary) and thinking about ordering yet another pumpkin pie with candied ginger crust and chantilly cream.
