San Jose del Cabo, Mexico
Las Ventanas Al Paraiso
A Rosewood Hotel
What it is
An eco-friendly 84-suite and villa gem on the frothy tip of the 1,000-mile Baja Peninsula, with access to four golf courses.
What it isn't
Limited. Here, you straddle both the Sea of Cortez aaaand the Pacific Ocean, which means activities are rife, whether you feel like chartering their 58-foot yacht or snorkeling amid moray eels and sea turtles in vibrant coral reefs.
What we think
Are standard-issue resorts getting you down? Us, too, not that we have anything against a swim up bar. But Las Ventanas Al Paraiso is aptly named (paraiso translates to paradise). Here, the beachfront cabanas are accompanied by jacuzzis and private plunge pools (brilliant!); personal butlers will spritz you with Evian spray or SPF as you lounge waterside at the eight infinity pools; and staffers will happily loan you an iPad stocked with a celestial map for star-gazing into the night. Guest rooms are no less considered: each suite (yes, they’re all suites—unless they’re villas) is enormous, beginning at 960-square-feet and tricked out with private patios, adobe fireplaces and hand-carved touches. Viva la Mexico, indeed.
You're here because
It’s among the most family-friendly resorts you’ve ever encountered, thanks to the Rose Buds for Children program. Need a crib? Baby monitors? A teensy version of your robe and slippers? They’ve got you covered.
You’re nothing if not a tequila connoisseur, which is one reason the resort’s Tequila & Ceviche Bar has dropped your jaw—literally. This is the largest horde of 100% blue agave tequila you’ve ever seen in your life. The fact that you can sip it alongside ceviche made from the catch-of-the-day? Absolute cielo (that’s heaven in Spanish).
Set on Tequila Cove Beach, you’re a mere 20 minute drive from San Jose del Cabo International Airport. Golfers love that the resort is decked by the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones II Cabo Real course.
