Casa Polanco
Estate of Bliss
What it is
A 1930s manse transformed into a pampering boutique hotel, with a spa cabin, airy restaurant, light-filled modernist gym, and art-filled interiors.
What it isn't
Thirsty. The hotel maintains a sumptuous library with an honor bar where you can kick back your favorite tipple overlooking the trees.
What we think
If you’ve ever wanted to stroll into the pages of Architectural Digest, this is as close as it gets to the real thing. Tucked within a stunningly designed Deco-era mansion in the posh Polanco district, the hotel epitomizes gracious grandeur with a modern day twist (note the fanciful original moldings and the sculptural light fixtures worthy of Museo de Arte Moderno.) The starting Premier Patio View rooms are intimate in size but ultra-chic, with herringbone floors, Midcentury light fixtures, Bang & Olufsen speakers, a minibar, and Dyson hair dryers, among other luxuries. The Suite Polanco, though, is our favorite, thanks to its private terrace overlooking leafy Lincoln Park. Swoon.
You're here because
So much is included in your rate, such as coffee and tea delivered to your room, gratis breakfasts, afternoon tea, and zippy loaner electric bikes for whirls around town.
The Moment
From your green and white striped banquette under a lacelike palm tree at La Veranda, the only thing more delectable than this afternoon tea setup is the scene: it feels like everyone who is anyone is here, buzzing like a butterfly around you.
Restaurants & Bars
La Veranda - Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and in the afternoon, TeaTime is served.
Location
Perched along Lincoln Park, a seven block walk from Museo Soumaya (home to Leonardo da Vinci’s and Vincent Van Gogh’s alike) and a mere 30 minute drive from Mexico City International Airport.
