Sofitel Mexico City Reforma

Chic Skyscraper

What it is

An artful 275-room tower with 6 buzzing eateries, an architecturally stunning 38th floor pool, and a Sofitel Spa with L’Occitane.

What it isn't

Buttoned up and traditional. Expect sculptural furniture, graphic rugs, and an urbanists color palette of steel grays and sky blues.

What we think

Tech wizards flock to this hotel, where guest rooms are as connected as they come. Each one sits on a teetering floor (from 15 to 37), and is stocked with an LED TV, Bluetooth-enabled desk for CEOs and upstarts alike, zippy WiFi, and a Nespresso coffee machine to keep you whirring. Treat yourself to a 732-square-foot Prestige Suite for a deep oval soaking tub and panorama over the gilt gold Angel of Independence, a 1910 monument that’s the city’s answer to the Eiffel Tower. Or the 35th and 36th floor Opera Suite, where the dining room is surrounded by floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the city skyline (plus: you’ll find a kitchenette and Hermes toiletries in your baños). While you’re here, take at least one meal at Cityzen Rooftop Kitchen; the only thing better than the view are the suckling pig tacos.

You're here because

The pool is nothing less than exquisite: with living green walls and waterfalls. Plus, you love a bit of hand-holding on vacation, and their concierges will happily arrange your tours and tickets.

The Moment

Honestly, the vista from the spa’s 38th floor altitude is so jaw-dropping, you’re already feeling brand new. But you still treat yourself to your hot stone massage, and you’re so glad you did: it takes a decade off your attitude.
