W Mexico City

Capital of Cool

What it is

A buzzing, artful hideout for stylish globetrotters in a 25-story tower, with 237 sleek rooms, two hip restaurants, a colorful spa and open air covered whirlpool.

What it isn't

Just for humans. Their pet policy is one of the most pawsome on earth.

What we think

If you’ve ever wanted to sleep in, say, the New Museum, W Mexico City is for you. Each guest room feels like a gallery, with their floor to ceiling glass walls, minimalist furniture (yep, that clean-lined bed is glowing a neon green) to its floor to ceiling murals. Even the “starter” room category is topnotch and deserving of its monicker: the Wonderful guest room has a rainforest shower (complete with Bliss lemon and sage toiletries), a bedside lighting control panel, downy king sized W Signature Bed, W Mixbar and iPhone-ready speakers...all in a tidy 366 square feet. Or treat yourself to the best and book the celeb-worthy Wow Penthouse—it has two private terraces, a jaw-dropping sculptural sofa, glitzy dining area, and built-in cocktail bar, all in a 1,302-square-feet floor plan with megawatt views.

You're here because

W has famously fabulous spa treatments; this particular spa is fitted with a sauna, steam room, juice bar, and terraces for a breath of fresh air while you’re sipping your Mezcal.

The Moment

You’re sick of the WFH (work from home) life, which is why you’re so thrilled to see the hotel’s neon-lit Living Room Bar a “Fun While Working” plan—including zippy WiFi and mixologist-made cocktails that may push yet another Zoom meeting into happy hour territory.

Restaurants & Bars

The Living Room - hotel bar offering contemporary cocktails

25DOS - contemporary Mexican cuisine using local, organic and fresh ingredients

Location

The well-heeled Polanco district, just a block from Gucci, Hermes, and other boutiques of that ilk. Two blocks in the other direction: the museum of natural history, Museo Nacional de Antropolgia, where you can see ancient Teotihuacan sculptures.
