Riviera Nayarit, Mexico
Imanta Punta De Mita
Seafront Luxury
What it is
With just 11 villas within 250 acres of oceanfront jungle, it’s a private paradise (complete with a spa with outdoor treatment rooms, plus a rooftop bar).
What it isn't
It’s not within walking distance of anything. But as we previously pointed out, it’s paradise. Why leave?
What we think
Boldface names flock to this resort for two reasons: it’s as hush-hush as Sir Richard Branson’s Private Island, and it has just as many luxe amenities, including a jungle spa set open to the symphony of pounding surf and curated activities like guided hikes to spot iguanas, geckos and lizards in the misty forest. Villas are nothing short of enormous, with the streamlined, earthy feel of a Japanese minka house; book the Casona Jaguar for a three-bedroom retreat with its own beach and infinity pool, plus double height ceilings in the common area and a kitchen that would make Ina Garten salivate. If your needs are more demure, the Jungle Deluxe room is a favorite, thanks to its Instagrammable soaking tub that appears to be carved out of a solid lava stone boulder.
You're here because
It’s a Relais & Chateaux property. Translation: it’s the best of the best, and practically guaranteed to have top notch service.
The Moment
There’s nothing better than starting your day with your toes in the sand at breakfast, and one of the resort’s waterfront restaurants, Tzamaika, is happy to oblige. You order chili rellenos, nutella crepes and, of course, a basket of just-baked pastries. Viva La Mexico!
