Tulum, Mexico
Habitas Tulum
Seafront Paradise
What it is
A lush and jungly retreat on the Caribbean with earthy, palapa-roofed rooms, a modernist restaurant on the sand, and a spa that will transform your soul, too.
What it isn't
Blah. Experiences here include everything from meditation circles to explorations of sacred cenotes.
What we think
If Goop-era Gwyneth Paltrow were reincarnated as a Mexican resort, she’d be something like this: luxe-leaning, of course, but very oriented around wellness from the inside out. The canvas walled guest rooms here are more akin to glamping tents, with their thatched palapa roofs, terraces, al fresco rain showers and plenty of private space (500 square feet). Bonus: many are set right on the beach itself, or facing a private plunge pool. Be sure to ask about programming options—gratis for Habitas guests—before your arrival; they often include classes on intuitive movement, ashtanga yoga, martial arts, and even “water wisdom” meditation in the pool.
You're here because
Sustainability is important to you, and it’s part of Habitas’ DNA: their bath products are organic and local; they don’t use any single-use plastics on-site; and they’ve partnered with the Papaya Playa Project to help keep the region as pristine as possible.
The Moment
At the spa this afternoon, the only thing more beautiful than sunlight filtering through the palms is this crystal massage: your surf-worn muscles are healed, but your spirit feels renewed, too.
Restaurants & Bars
Moro - Helmed by Chef Horacio Dardano, Moro is the heartbeat of our home. Our menu is an ode to Spanish and Moorish cuisine, using seasonal ingredients and spices to create explosive flavors.
Location
Set right on the ocean within the thick and fragrant jungles of Parque Nacional Tulum, about an hour and a half drive from Cancun International Airport.
