Cancun, Mexico
La Casa de la Playa
Sea Star
What it is
An earthy 63-suite all-inclusive retreat on the ocean with celebrity chefs helming the restaurants, a spa with treatments based on Mayan rituals, and incredible activities.
What it isn't
Blah. Those activities we mentioned include purification ceremonies and guided tours of Xpeleo, otherworldly subterranean caverns that are a spelunker’s dream.
What we think
With their modern architecture made warm by naturally inspired touches—stone walls, wood-on-wood furniture—the guest quarters at La Casa de La Playa are exactly the sort of Vacationlands one could want in this lush pocket of the Riviera Maya. Each suite (and every room is a suite) is nothing less than ginormous at 1,065 square feet, and stocked with locally made artworks and plush amenities, such as bathtubs made from volcanic rock and double rain showers. The Wellness Ocean View Suites might be our favorite, thanks to their glass-walled private pool (complete with hydromassage) perched over the water. Swoon.
You're here because
It’s arguably the most luxurious all-inclusive on the planet. Everything you can imagine is included in your stay, from 24 hour butler service to jaunts around town in Mercedes Benz Sprinters.
The Moment
The mud room in the spa is everything you could have wanted from your spa day…until, that is, your masseuse arrives and gives you the best massage you’ve ever had. Bliss.
