Riviera Maya, Mexico
Rosewood Mayakoba
Modern lagoon-side luxury
What it is
A gorgeous resort that suits couples and families alike.
What it isn't
A good choice if you want a scene.
What we think
One of four resorts in the exclusive Mayakoba complex south of Cancún, the Rosewood provides contemporary luxury that works just as well for honeymooners as for families. The 130 suites—many of them freestanding units—start at about 780 square feet and include indoor and outdoor showers, private plunge pools and sundecks. Constructed of limestone and hardwood, they have a sleek, cubist look that contrasts with their lagoon-filled surroundings. The property itself is quite huge, and only a handful of accommodations open directly onto the beach; most require a short ride by golf car, bike or boat (each room has a private dock). Service is excellent, and the extensive kids' club makes this a popular option for traveling families.
You're here because
You want a private and romantic hotel with an air of exclusivity.
The Moment
The sounds of the rivers and mangroves lull you into a deep relaxation as you begin an outdoor massage on your private deck by the lagoon.
