What we think
From every angle, Tulum is a jaw-dropper: a place where turquoise seas and cenotes are juxtaposed against ancient ruins and verdant, pristine rainforests. So it’s no wonder Casa Malca pulled out all the stops to create this head-turning and modern Quintana Roo property. Every room is stylish and comfortable at once, thanks to tufted headboards that practically span the whole wall, plush carpets and sofas you’ll sink into and never want to leave. (If you’re stumped on which to book, we particularly love the 860-to-1080 square foot Master Suite Beach Front, which has a rainshower, terrace, perks like a minibar and Nespresso machine, and terrace. Be sure to stop in at the spa for natural treatments and plenty of blissful lounging; it’s set on a roof and has a Yucatan woodpecker’s panorama over the adjacent Caribbean Sea.

The Moment
The new beach club here, Head of a Mad Man, took its cues from Jean Michel Basquiat…so it’s no wonder it feels incredibly inventive. But the best part might just be sticking your toes in the sand beneath your feet.
