Meadowood Napa Valley

A vast private estate with renowned cuisine

What it is

An idyllic country-club-style resort for couples, families, and foodies.

What it isn't

As great of a choice for families during the non-summer months (since the sports camp is not open).

What we think

Without a doubt, this is one of the most luxurious and authentically Californian resorts in the Napa Valley. Set on 250 acres, the hotel is surrounded by lush wooded hills with plenty of room for activities. Among the long list is a nine-hole golf course, manicured croquet lawns, seven tennis courts and a number of hiking trails. The entire property has a refined country club vibe that somehow manages to still feel laid back, one of the many reasons that this can be a good choice for families (as well as Meadowood’s kid’s sports camps available during the summer). The 85 cottages, suites and lodges all have a lovely residential feel and even the smallest of the accommodations starts at 415 square feet with french doors that open to a private patio. Though luxurious, all of the rooms have a really homey feel with cozy throws, wood-burning fireplaces and fresh floral bouquets. While lovely in all regards, the feature of Meadowood that stands out most is its food. People travel from all over to dine at the Restaurant at Meadowood, which has three Michelin stars and is recognized as one of the best restaurants in the country. It will, however, cost you a pretty penny.

You're here because

A vacation isn’t a vacation unless you’re guaranteed incredible wine and food.
