A celeb-magnet new hideaway in the Hollywood Hills with a daybed-flanked rooftop pool and bar.
What it isn't
Wasteful. One of the hotel’s restaurants, 1 Kitchen by Chris Crary, is entirely locavore, with its own organic garden and beehive.
What we think
We don’t think director Nancy Meyers had a hand in designing this hotel, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they took some inspiration from her film sets. Rooms are light filled and airy, with organic white linen and creamy upholstery, happy leafy plants, rough-hewn wood furniture and floor to ceiling windows that peep out on La-la-land. Housed within their sweeping 305 square feet (or more!): 50” HD Smart TVs, Nespresso machines, yoga mats, Bluetooth speakers, and cotton robes for stretching out on your pillow top mattress. It’s an idyllic retreat after a night of revelry at their rooftop bar, Harriet’s, where tasseled umbrellas and green and white striped furniture are Instagram-ready. Order the Dark Room cocktail, with gin, pineapple infused Campari and jasmine, and prepare to be discovered.

If brunch is too heavy, the rest of your day is ruined—many a pancake stack has forced you into an early nap. Thankfully, food comas are next to impossible at the hotel’s Alice restaurant, where dishes are worthy of any health-obsessed starlet. You start with the chia pudding, with okinawa yam, coconut milk and tapioca pearls, before moving on to something slightly naughty: brioche french toast with stewed figs and whipped creme fraiche. Divine.
On Sunset Boulevard (where else?), at the base of the Hollywood Hills. You’re in good company, with Chateau Marmont and Sunset Tower Hotel just up the street.
