Trucking in all of its ingredients. The ranch has its own ½ acre biodynamic farm right on the premises.

What we think

Every single room at The Ranch looks like it could double as a cinematic set for a Nancy Meyers film, thanks to soaring open beam ceilings and a serene color palette of earthy hues. Even the “starting” room category, Canyon Rooms, are ginormous, with a floor plan of a whopping 410 square feet (plus an outdoor patio) and amenities that range from Italian bed linens to loaner DVD players for cozy nights in. Our favorite room category, though, is inarguably the Creekside One Bedroom Suite for its separate living room and expansive 715 square foot floor plan. If you’re honeymooning or just want to feel like you are, you can’t do any better than The Treehouse, which is set atop a point and has a wraparound deck and gazebo for taking in the only-in-California views.

The Moment

From your table overlooking the roaring fire at Harvest, you feel like you’re dining inside of a Joni Mitchell song sprung to life. Much of the menu was either grown right here on the premises or in nearby fields; this heirloom tomato salad with marinated burrata and pesto—served with slightly charred sourdough—is worth singing about.
