Rancho Mirage, California
The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage
Mountaintop Majesty
What it is
A clifftop bastion of cosseting luxury with eagle’s eye views of Palm Springs valley and a top-notch spa.
What it isn't
Home to a golf course, though this is Palm Springs, where there are over 100 courses at the ready at any given time.
What we think
When it’s located on Frank Sinatra Drive, you know it’s gonna be good. The Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage would satisfy Ole Blue Eyes himself, thanks to its two Insta-worthy swimming pools, glitterati-stocked restaurants and cinematic overlook of the valley he called home. Rooms are larger than many New York apartments (starting at 450 square feet) and tricked out with deep soaking tubs and private balconies primed for taking in the desert landscape, dirty martini in-hand. Upgrade to a terrace room for a firepit under the stars and you’ll know exactly what Sinatra meant when he sang “Fly Me to the Moon.”
You're here because
After a full day of exploring you’re often zonked by dinner time, and love that this hotel’s restaurants are well-worth a night in. One bite of your 65-day aged steak at your table lofted some 650 feet above the desert floor, and you’re hooked.
The Moment
Your shoulders drop at least two inches when you step foot in the holistic-focused Ritz-Carlton Spa, thanks to its myriad plunge pools, yoga spaces and views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. You’ve had your fair share of serene massages, but none so over-the-top Zen-nerific as this CBD Healing Recovery Massage (with, you guessed it, CBD and plenty of hemp-based pampering included in the rub-down). Coachella has nothing on this bliss.

Location
In Rancho Mirage—otherwise known as Palm Springs’ uber-glam sidekick—a ten mile drive from sceney downtown Palm Springs, where Melvyn’s Restaurant & Lounge (a former hangout of the Rat Pack) is a must-visit for cocktails.
