Nobu Hotel Palo Alto

A Delicious Stay

What it is

A serene ryokan-inspired retreat with 73 rooms that tech kingpins love for its over the top service, luxe amenities and, of course, on-site Nobu restaurant outpost.

What it isn't

Home to its own spa. But guests have insider access and priority booking at SkinSpirit, which is arguably even better for Silicon Valley-types, thanks to its injectable and laser treatments (kiss, kiss).

What we think

When your head is down on a business deadline, the last thing you need in your hotel is a cacophonous lobby and a room teeming with distraction. Which is one reason why future Zuckerberg’s love to stay in this tranquil respite, which takes its cues from authentic Japanese ryokans (inns). Clean-lined, minimalist guest rooms have lofted blonde wood beds swathed in downy white linens, Alexa-controlled window treatments (should you want to block your jaw-dropping view of the Santa Cruz Mountains out your private balcony), and Yukata robes—throw one one before you raid your Sub-Zero mini fridge for the full Nobu experience. Want an even more sprawling space to call home? Ryokan floor suites are nothing less than ginormous, and come with doting 24-hour butler service, turn-down service (of Italian-made Anichini linens, no less) and—perk of all perks—priority seating at Nobu.

You're here because

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa sets your pulse (and your palette) racing with dishes like mesquite smoked wagyu gyoza, and you’re sick of waiting for a reservation at other lesser Nobu outposts.

The Moment

You had a major “win” today at work, and you’re ready to celebrate...but no mere bottle of bubbly will do. At Nobu, you kick off the evening with a lychee and elderflower martini before moving on to the really good stuff: wagyu beef teriyaki donburi that costs more per plate than your first paycheck out of college. And yes, it’s way worth it.
