Pendry Washington DC - The Wharf

Sleek & Stylish

What it is

A modernist harborfront marvel with 131 rooms, three restaurants abuzz with politicos (including a rooftop Japanese joint), al fresco pool and terrace, and spa.

What it isn't

D.C. business as usual. They voted for maximum aesthetic elegance (don’t miss the sumptuous, Art Deco-leaning Bar Pendry, which looks like it was designed for JFK’s discrete nights on the town).

What we think

We love stuffy, centuries-old Washington hotels. We do. But occasionally, we long to tuck in at a brand new retreat that’s refined for today’s travelers, not Abraham Lincoln…and that’s what this is. Guest rooms feature arched doorways, herringbone wood floors, and marble-lined bathrooms reminiscent of a sailing yacht; each one is fitted with bluetooth speakers, high-def SmartTvs, luxurious linens, and custom toiletries designed by MiN New York. We love the Corner River View King Room with sweeping floor to ceiling panoramas of the Potomac; the Deluxe River View One Bedroom Suite has the same effect, plus a separate living room included in the ginormous 525 square foot floor plan.

You're here because

The pool terrace is as Instagrammable as they come: flanked by daybeds, striped umbrellas and peeping out on the Potomac River.

The Moment

Up on the roof at The Moonraker, the Japanese whiskey menu rivals anything you tasted in Kyoto…but it’s the food that will lure you here again tomorrow night. Tonight's deliciousness: charred A5 Wagyu with crispy rice and yuzu profiteroles with honey butterscotch sauce. Drool.

Restaurants & Bars

Bar Pendry - Our signature lobby bar is an intimate, richly designed space that evokes the essence of a classic hotel bar with the modern grandeur of today.

Pool Terrace - A distinct riverside destination with two unique settings for day-to-night drinks, bites and casual gatherings.

Flora Flora - A DC destination with California character, the all-day restaurant features fresh, bright flavors and a menu that feels casual, shareable and always leaves you craving more.

Location

At the Potomac water’s edge in Southwest Washington, a nine block walk from the Washington Monument and Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
