Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Small-scale, high-touch luxury in Georgetown

What it is

An intimate luxury property with an ideal Georgetown location.

What it isn't

Within walking distance of the major sights. Your civics lesson will require a taxi ride.

What we think

With just 55 rooms, including 12 suites and six new townhouses, this Gem of Georgetown provides the thoughtful, personalized service that one expects from Rosewood. Perched on the historic C&O Canal, the red-brick exterior is in tune with the heart-of-Georgetown location, but once inside, guests are treated to residential interiors that are elegant and understated, a pleasing combination of classic American and clean modern design. We love the hotels sophisticated atmosphere. The Library’s wood-paneled walls and onyx fireplace create an intimate space. CUT DC by Wolfgang Pauck offers refined service and a vegetable and seafood-centric menu. CUT Bar and Lounge boasts 2,500 bottles from around the world, complemented by a raw seafood glass counter that showcases delicacies from the Chesapeake Bay. CUT Above (the rooftop lounge) is the star, though. The lounge (and adjacent infinity pool!) is known for its spectacular, panoramic views of the Potomac and the monumental Washington skyline.

You're here because

To you, luxury means personal attention more than grandeur and marble. And a location amidst Georgetown's restaurants and pubs sounds more stimulating than a stay Downtown.

The Moment

Your barrel aged old-fashioned in hand, you step out onto the rooftop terrace and drink a toast to the capital laid out before you, and all its hard-working lobbyists.

Location

Smack in Georgetown, which makes for a more dynamic location than most of the city's business-oriented hotels—especially on evenings and weekends—but does mean you're further away from the Smithsonian, government buildings and other major sites. The closest Metro stop is a 15-minute walk.
