Isla Bella Beach Resort
Sleek by the Sea
What it is
Newly opened on 24 acres of the Florida Keys, with 199 nautically-inspired rooms and suites, five pools, three top-notch restaurants and a mermaid-worthy spa.
What it isn't
“Garden view.” Every single room here has a blissful, palm tree-fringed ocean overlook and a private terrace.
What we think
‘Bella’ means beautiful—and that’s exactly what Isla Bella Beach Resort is. Take the guest rooms themselves, each one of which pairs Old Florida charms (art deco lines, rattan furniture and blue and white patterned upholstery) with modernist touches, from the metallic lamps to the gleaming artwork. We love that the rooms are enormous (starting at a whopping 550 square feet) and fitted with 400-thread-count sheets, walk-in rain showers, soaking tubs, Molton Brown toiletries and smart TVs. Upgrade to a suite to get the full “I’m moving to Florida!” vibe; each comes with a kitchenette and living room that feels like home, and many walk right out from your terrace to the soft white sand. Don’t miss stopping by the spa for a gold facial and bamboo stick massage.
You're here because
The resort fee here includes a ton: zippy wi-fi, loaner bikes, private beach and pool access, and a 24/hour gym (with Peletons, natch).
After a day splayed out on the sand like a starfish, you need to rev your energy—and Il Postino, the resort’s topnotch Italian restaurant, is just what nonna ordered. You take one sip of your cannoli martini (hey, it’s vacation) and order an Only in Florida delicacy: linguini frutti di mare with mahi-mahi, shrimp, clams and mussels, all pulled fresh from the sea.
Restaurants & Bars
Il Positano - Fresh pastas, classic Florida Keys cuisine, and ocean views are always on the side
In Marathon, Florida, a 59 minute drive from Key West and about two and a half hours drive from Miami International Airport. While you’re here, it’s worth stopping by Curry Hammock State Park to explore 1,000 acres of mangrove swamps where dolphins and manatees roam.
