What it is

A seafront family-friendly resort that has it all: seven pools, a lifeguard-lined private beach, and jaw-dropping on-site amenities (yep, those are Waverunner rentals).

What it isn't

Tasteless. Among 13 restaurants, you’ll find everything from an outpost of New York’s Serendipity to Morimoto by Iron Chef-famous Masaharu Morimoto (at adjacent sister property Boca Raton Resort).

What we think

Listen: there are nearly as many resorts in Florida as there are seashells along the beach. At least, so it would seem. But if you’ve ever marveled at a mollusk, you know not every shell is worth bringing in to your life. Boca Beach Club is. Don’t be surprised if you want to move in and stay forever. Rooms are huge (starting at 420-square-feet), and most overlook the water; your daily resort charge includes zippy WiFi, classes (zumba! yoga!), beach service (“Would you like a fresh towel?”), and even unlimited use of the driving range at the Boca Raton Resort courses, which are certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries.

It’s a Waldorf-Astoria resort. Translation? Service, service, service. You don’t go on vacation to complain.

The Moment

Sitting in the dappled shade of a palm tree at Seagrille, you can’t peel your eyes from the shimmering Atlantic beyond your table. Until, that is, your waiter hands you your menu—which is too brimming with deliciousness to warrant a decision. After much hemming and hawing, you opt for Vacay on a Plate: crispy lobster potatoes with lobster aioli and emulsion; a grilled 2 pound lobster stuffed with crab; and a passion fruit crunch cake. Ahhhhh: Boca!
