Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach

Throwback Bliss

What it is

Built in 1949 as the Escape Hotel, revamped for today’s sun worshippers with a rooftop pool and bar, botanically themed restaurant and courtyards filled with fragrant blooms.

What it isn't

Hands-off. Kimpton staffers pull out all the stops. Expect gratis tipples at the evening social hour, coffee and tea service in the lobby, yoga classes, loaner bikes…the list goes on.

What we think

With their calming color palette of cloud whites and driftwood blondes, the guest rooms here are as serene as the sand between your toes. All the better to put the focus on the lush and leafy palm tree views out the window. Even “starter” rooms are stocked with retro fridges, beach bags with extra towels, yoga mats, Atelier Bloem toiletries and Marshall Bluetooth speakers. Book the 534-square foot Goodland Junior Suite for a king bed and sitting area complete with a sleeper sofa. And while you’re here, be sure to stop in at the poolside Good Bar—the menu includes both the edible (fish tacos) and the educational (cocktail making classes).

You're here because

Kimpton is as pet-friendly as hotels get. Your four-legged bestie stays free, and has their own plush perks, including water bowls, leashes and waste bags, and treats.

The Moment

Ensconced in your plush leather banquette at Botanic, the hotel’s airy locavore restaurant, you can’t help but go Florida full throttle. Your dinner tonight: shrimp tacos with cilantro crema and red snapper with coconut rice and tropical salsa.

Restaurants & Bars
