The Boca Raton Cloister

The Best of Boca

What it is

A storied 1926 grande dame newly revamped with fresh Instagrammable interiors and full access to a sprawling resort with a 50,000 square foot spa and 17 restaurants.

What it isn't

Just about laying on the beach. Sure, you can do that (with butler service, natch) but there are also eight gleaming pools and bottomless activities including golf, yachting, a de facto waterpark complete with a lazy river, pickleball and so much more.

What we think

The Boca Raton Cloister is exactly as it sounds: a lush and luxe world away from the fray, with sumptuous amenities that the guests of 1926 could only dream about. Want to hop on a water taxi to flit the grounds? Your wish is their command. Feel like hopping on a loaner bike or just zonking out after turndown service? Be their guest. Guest rooms combine the best of history (detailed woodwork and timeless yet modern furnishings) with uber-plush touches, including Nespresso machines and Molton Brown toiletries. We love the 290 square foot Estate Guest Room + Balcony for its al fresco views of the manicured, verdant gardens; the 750 square foot One-Bedroom Suite is beloved by families for its fully separate living room complete with a dining table. Of course, we don’t anticipate that you’ll spend much time in your room: this is a Vacationland where bucket list exploits abound, down to the banana boat rides.

You're here because

You’re a history buff, and this castle-like hotel designed by local starchitect Addison Mizner has been through it all: it was even used as “the most elegant army barracks in history” in World War II.

The Moment

You’ve splurged on #treatyourself scrubs and potions in some of the world’s most impeccable spas, but Spa Palmera is next level. Designed to look like the Alhambra Palace, you’ve never felt more like a royal, thanks to the diamond facial and a Himilayan gemstone massage. Bliss.
