Miami Beach, Florida
Delano Hotel South Beach
Deco for Today
What it is
A celeb-favorite 194-room hideaway on South Beach.
What it isn't
Sedate. But if you want a calming getaway, head to Topeka.
What we think
Call it the Starchitecture that changed South Beach: when Philippe Starck redesigned this 1947 monolith, the grande dame of Collins Avenue, he couldn’t have known he was reinventing the game. Or maybe he did. Because where else but the Delano can you find entirely bleach white and silver rooms lofted above city and sea? Where else can you find a rooftop wellness center that doubles as a see-and-be-seen boîte—and happens to look like it was transported here from Santorini? Where else would a hidden speakeasy-like bar awash in neon glow and tufted banquettes feel delicious—not seedy? Nowhere but the Delano.
You're here because
George Clooney supposedly stayed here while filming Up in the Air, and you’ll do anything Clooney does. Once.
The Moment
Walking into the Rose Bar, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to Deco’s heyday—and you like it. When you first sip your Golden Rose cocktail under the glow of Venetian glass chandeliers, you can swear you hear Gatsby whispering in your ear.
