Bal Harbour, Florida
The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort
Peak beachfront luxury
What it is
The pinnacle of luxury on the beach, providing discreet glamour to the well-heeled.
What it isn't
In the thick of things. Except for the Bal Harbour Shops across the street, this is a mostly residential area.
What we think
The St. Regis echoes the spare-no-expense glamour and exquisite taste of the famous Bal Harbour Shops, directly across the street. The look is Hollywood-meets-Miami, with interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg incorporating mirrored walls, enormous leather chairs, high-gloss black flooring and ubiquitous sprays of purple orchids. That may sound over-the-top, but it's just the right amount of flash for Miami—and it's tempered by well-chosen pieces of contemporary art, like Kohei Nawa’s bejeweled life-size deer and Miami-based Santiago Rubino’s surrealistic mural in the bar. The 216 rooms and suites and bright and large, all with ocean-facing balconies, large marble bathrooms with separate baths and plush extras like remote-controlled drapes and TVs embedded in the bathroom mirror. Suites come with butler service, so you don't have to waste any time unpacking your luggage or mixing a cocktail. The pool and beach area are large and well attended, and there's a Rémède Spa, 24-hour gym and kids's club. The property has multiple dining options: choose from fresh fish and Greek classics at Atlantikós, build-your-own burgers at BH Burger Bar, find indulgent, sophisticated French fare at La Gourmandise and The St. Regis Bar, the only live music venue in Bal Harbour, offers a huge selection of the world’s finest champagnes and wines, handcrafted cocktails along with sushi, salads and more.
You're here because
You want a beach getaway that puts shopping, dining, spa services and white-glove luxury in the palm of your (well-manicured) hand.
Sprawled on the balcony lounge chairs, you watch the butler quietly exit the suite. Between you, the Champagne bucket begins to bead in the Miami warmth. Hands entwined, you look out down the coastline, the other beachfront towers just a string of twinkling lights defining the shore.
The wealthy oceanside enclave of Bal Harbour, a 25-minute drive from MIA, and around seven miles north of the South Beach Art Deco District.
