Deerfield Beach, Florida
Royal Blues Hotel
Gem of the Gold Coast
What it is
A seafront boutique hotel with 12 lavish rooms and a renowned restaurant.
What it isn't
Low-tech. Rooms are tricked out with Kohler Numi bidets, digitally-controlled showers and blackout blinds, and high-def flat screen TVs (not that you’ll be doing much binging here).
What we think
When they chose Royal as part of their hotel name, they weren’t kidding. This retreat, designed by West Palm Beach legend Jorge Garcia, would likely be a favorite getaway of any monarch. Why? For one thing, its status as a Relais & Chateaux property—the only one in the area—guarantees seamless luxury. For another, you’ll feel like you’re wearing a crown the second you step foot on the property (for proof: just look to the flute of welcome Champagne in your hand, the Frette linens adorning your bed, and the on-point beach service). Rooms themselves were designed to evoke mega-yachts, and do—from the blonde wood walls to the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook private terraces and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
You're here because
You’ve never had a bad stay at a Relais & Chateaux. Bonus? You’re working on your namaste vibes and the hotel has gratis yoga classes by the pool every Saturday.
The Moment
Sitting under the glow of a 1,500-gallon saltwater aquarium in the hotel’s Chanson Restaurant, you start to feel a bit like a fish yourself: footloose and fancy-free. When the waiter brings your locally caught grouper in prosciutto broth, your shoulders drop practically to the floor. This is vacation!
