Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences
What it is
A new modernist hideaway on 450-acre Hokuala resort that feels like home, with a two-tiered infinity pool facing the beach.
What it isn't
Phoning it in. Expect our fridge to be stocked for you before you check-in.
What we think
If this feels like a paradise you want to visit again and again, that’s by design: the Timbers is also a whole and fractional ownership property. For hotel guests, that equates to seamless welcoming service, 17-miles of trails just out your front door, and a locavore restaurant that culls produce from the on-site gardens. Golf obsessives love that they get priority status—a.k.a. VIP treatment—at Ocean Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus; other adventures include beachfront tai chi classes and their expert-planned outrigger canoe trips. And did we mention there’s 24-hour security valet service? We call that the Beyonce treatment.
You're here because
You’ve stayed in Hawaiian mega-resorts before, and instantly regretted it. Because guests you meet at Timbers actually own it, it has an entirely different—and much more relaxed—neighborly feel.
Spas are always relaxing, of course, but this one takes it to the next level. You’re sipping a locally grown mango smoothie while awaiting a volcanic ash massage. It’s so dreamily only-in-Hawaii, you nearly have to pinch yourself.
A frothy stretch of Hokuala, on 450 verdant acres fronting the Pacific.
