New Orleans, Louisiana
JW Marriott New Orleans
Big Easy, Bigger Luxury
What it is
A revamped hideaway near the French Quarter with sleek yet peaceful rooms, a rooftop saltwater infinity pool, and a posh Brazilian steakhouse and luxe lobby bar.
What it isn't
Solely about Mardis Gras-ing. The hotel has a 24/7 fitness center with ellipticals, treadmills, stair climbers, and more, should you want to work off that beignet binge at 3 a.m.
What we think
Head-turning sights are everywhere in New Orleans, and JW Marriott is no exception. Guest rooms here have all the musts you’ve come to expect from the brand (such as zippy Zoom-ready wi-fi and Netflix-equipped flatscreens) plus design touches that make you feel like you’re very much in this centuries-old city, including ornate wallpapers and marble-lined bathrooms. Well-equipped rooms begin at 350-square-feet; we love the Premium level rooms for their corner views and king beds and the ginormous 1 Bedroom Bi-Level Suite with 1,030 square feet spread over (yes) two stories. Be sure to take a dip in the rooftop pool daily; it’s as reviving as a Pimm’s Cup cocktail (invented in New Orleans in the 1940s).
You're here because
You’ve grown somewhat addicted to their Executive Lounge lifestyle and its seemingly boundless perks, including breakfast, afternoon tea and a full spread at cocktail hour.
The Moment
The only thing you love more than a steakhouse when you’re traveling is a steakhouse that cooks by fire. Tonight at Fogo de Chao, the hotel’s Brazilian restaurant, you’re treating yourself to the very best: a Tomahawk that’s been aged to perfection for 42 days.
