What we think

XV Beacon stands on a pre-Revolutionary 1772 granite foundation—once home to merchant Edward Bromfield—but that’s not the only revolutionary thing about it. The

Chef d’Or concierge is yours as soon as you book, should you require Red Sox box seats. Your room is stocked with cashmere blankets, 400-thread-count Frette linens, surround-sound stereos, floral arrangements and gas/electric fireplaces (yes, in every single room). It’s so well appointed you may never want to leave—and you don’t have to, thanks to Mooo…. Beacon Hill, their on-site restaurant, which will bring you anything your hungry heart desires from the room service menu, be it wagyu sirloin or panko and parmesan crusted onion rings.

Unlike other “pet friendly” hotels that charge an exorbitant fee for every set of paws to cross the threshold, XV Beacon is actually pet friendly. They ask for a flat $50 fee which

50% of that is donated to a local animal organization. Fido-approved.

The Moment

You never were able to move into the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, try as you did. But XV Beacon’s art collection scratches that itch. Every corner you turn, you spy something that drops your draw—be it a Roman mosaic crafted in the fourth century or a portrait by Gilbert Stuart painted in the 18th century. While you’re here, it all feels like yours.
