What it is
Tucked within the 37,000-acre Paws Up resort, a new, ultra-secretive 12- “haus” respite for adults only with all-inclusive pampering and over-the-top luxe touches.
What it isn't
Lacking the thrills of the original resort. You won’t miss a thing, whether you want to ride ATVs through the wilderness or hop in a hot air balloon to soar above the dreamily named Swan Range mountains, topping out at 8,000 feet in elevation.
What we think
Anyone who has ever been to Montana knows that it *already* feels like a secret—after all, they call it the Last Best Place for good reason. But if it’s honeymoon-level luxury and privacy you seek, make like a megawatt celeb and book a sleek cabin “haus” at The Green O, where each retreat is more romantic than the last. We love each of the Tree “Hauses,” which are lofted 15 feet above the ground, with floor to ceiling windows that peep out over the herbaceous forest canopy, a glass-walled fireplace, and even a swing in the living room that’s practically guaranteed to make you feel like a kid again. If you’d rather peep the stars, a Light Haus is a must; thanks to clerestory windows that give a wider view of the night sky. Oh, did we mention every rental comes with an outdoor hot tub and deck; all meals (including beverages); plus a loaner Lexus SUV for your use on the premises?
You're here because
The all-inclusive, multi-course meals are cooked on an open fire, and each dish is paired with the ideal tipple thanks to their on-staff sommelier. (Proof its fabulous: award winning chefs and pastry chefs whip up everything from the charcuterie to the buttery kouign-amann themselves, right on-site).
You’re not sure if it’s the Brad Pitt lookalike or the dry-aged bison ribeye that’s capturing your attention more tonight, as you sit sipping perfectly aged whiskey in the channel-tufted circular banquette edging the Social Haus’s flickering open fire. This is the last, last best place, and you’re never leaving.
