Hôtel Barrière Fouquet's New York

French & Fabulous

What it is

A new Tribeca outpost inspired by the Paris original with Art Deco-inspired interiors, a brasserie by Michelin-starred Chef Pierre Gagnaire, Dogpound gym, and Biologique Recherche-partner spa.

What it isn't

Without a swimming hole. The spa has a pristine waterfall-fed indoor hydropool, steam room, sauna, and five treatment rooms for everything from deep tissue massages to tightening facials.

What we think

Paris is a seven hour flight from New York City…but it doesn’t have to be. Some of the very best elements of the City of Lights can be found right here in Tribeca, where this famed circa 1899 Champs-Elysees hotel has a new (but equally glamorous) location. We j’adore the happy color palette in the guest rooms, with its soft pinks and verdigris greens; but even better is the fact that each one is stocked with floor-to-ceiling windows, a loaner iPad for hotel requests and services, rose-marble-lined bathroom, and a sumptuous Stearns & Foster Haraway bed topped with Matouk linens. Guest rooms start at 387 square feet; to spread out even further, go for a Prestige Junior Suite (complete with a separate living room) or one of the Terrace Suites. Designed by Swedish architect and interior guru Martin Brudnizki, each is equipped with a private terrace overlooking the skyline and museum-worthy art pieces.

You're here because

You’re a card-carrying Francophile, and the hotel has a 1920s cocktail bar and a glass-ceilinged courtyard terrace cafe that feels right out of the 7th arrondissement.

The Moment

Under the twinkling chandeliers of Chef Pierre Gagnaire’s Brasserie Fouquet’s New York, you feel like you’re in Paris itself. But one bite of your escargots with garlic green veloute and it’s settled: you’re as French as they come, in any city.
