What We Think

For anyone who wants to spend all day soaking up city life, but retreat to an idyllic luxury oasis, Pendry is the spot. It just so happens the serene ode to elegance is set right on Midtown’s 33rd Street. Thanks to their floor-to-ceiling windows, the small footprint of starter City King rooms (285-square-feet) still manage to feel huge. We love that each one has sleek blonde wood furnishings galore, marble bathrooms and high-end amenities, including Fili D’Oro bed linens, bespoke toiletries from MiN, and high def TVs. For a truly extravagant experience, you can’t do much better than the Skyline Corner One Bedroom Suite, a nearly 900-square-foot hideaway with a powder room, walk-in-closet, and two(!) living rooms. Local New Yorkers will salivate.

A new 164-room stunner with airy, spa-like interiors by Gachot Studios, and a high-tech 24-hour gym.

What It Isn't

Totally urban-feeling. Stop in the Garden Room cafe and you’ll feel as if you’ve wandered into a light-soaked, plant-filled atrium.

You love a great hotel bar, and Bar Pendry literally glows--complete with a gilt gold art piece that glimmers above top shelf tipples. Cocktail hour is a scene here...and that’s just the way you like it.
