What It Is

A landmarked 1895 Collegiate Gothic gem that feels like a cross between an Ivy League dormitory and a private estate. It’s a 60-room boutique sanctuary where gas lamps flicker in the courtyard and history is baked into the brickwork. It is arguably the most atmospheric hotel in Manhattan, managed with a "deskless" high-tech spine that stays out of the way of its 19th-century soul.

What It Isn't

It is not a shiny, glass-and-steel skyscraper with a rooftop pool or a massive corporate lobby.
