The Hoxton Williamsburg

Modern Marvel

What it is

A 175-room retreat from the London brand with clean-lined architecture, Manhattan skyline views, and three Israeli restaurants (including a rooftop cocktail bar).

What it isn't

Artless. The hotel is curated like a museum; they even have revolving shows of local artists (currently on view: the work of Taiwan expat Jocelyn Tsaih.)

What we think

If you want to wake up to a cinematic view of New York—the type of view that tells you at a glance “you can make it here”—The Hoxton is your hotel. Floor to ceiling windows in this former water tower factory not only have a prime overlook of the East River and skyscrapers, but also allow daylight to flow in each and every guest room. The “Cosy” room option is just that—cozy—at 170 square feet; we find it’s worth booking a “Roomy” for a 240 square foot floor plan and a little extra free-range space. Either way, expect every amenity you need, including blackout curtains, zippy Wifi, Marshall bluetooth speakers, a minifridge and full setup for your morning cuppa, and much more.

You're here because

Kids get a glam welcome with the Tiny Hox booking option, including cribs fitted with organic mattresses, bottle warmers, wee bath time essentials, coloring books…the list goes on.

The Moment

The only thing better than a rooftop bar overlooking Manhattan? One where you can order all manner of skewered Israeli foodstuffs cooked over the coals. At Laser Roof, you’re going big: with a dry-aged t-bone and salmon shishlik, plus sesame soft serve for dessert. New Yorkers really do do it better.

Restaurants & Bars

Laser Wolf Brooklyn - A, open-air, rooftop Israeli skewer house by Chef Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook with heat lamps hanging overhead, and an uninterrupted view of the Manhattan skyline.

Klein’s - Located in the lobby of The Hoxton, Williamsburg, is your go-to Williamsburg spot for classic American fare, serving up breakfast pastries and espresso drinks all kinda ways.

Location

A stellar corner of Williamsburg, just a block away from the waterfront park where Smorgasburg is held (translation: one of the most delightful al fresco food markets on the planet).
