The Mercer

Loft Life

What it is

Sleek and chic in Soho.

What it isn't

Showy. Belying the bustle out on the sidewalk, the Mercer is quiet and discreet (which is why celebs like it).

What we think

Reclaiming an old Romanesque revival building, the Mercer is every bit as stylish as its cobblestoned Soho location. Interiors are by renowned designer Christian Liaigre, who works wonders with New York’s limited light. Streaks of color enliven white interiors and large windows—the Romanesque semicircles in the loft suites are a rarely seen treat—fill the rooms with brick-baked sun. Even the lower-priced options include vintage Soho features, such as canopy ceilings, exposed-brick walls and, in courtyard rooms, French doors. Foodies and architectural enthusiasts alike will enjoy Jean George’s Mercer Kitchen, whose lower floor lies beneath the neighborhood’s signature cast iron and glass sidewalks, with seating under landmark brick arches.

You're here because

You want easy access to downtown's boutiques, restaurants and nightlife—and want to stay in a bastion of creativity in the urban jungle.

The Moment

The morning sun floods into your spacious suite, stretching shadows in its wake. As you draw the blinds you watch New Yorkers get ready for the day. Time for a macchiato from the Kitchen café.

Restaurants & Bars

The Mercer Kitchen - a chic, sophisticated vibe in the heart of SoHo. A casual café upstairs serves breakfast and lunch, and transforms into an exciting bar/lounge at night.

Location

Smack in the middle of Soho’s high-end shopping district. Washington Square Park is a five-minute walk and Midtown is 20 minutes by car.
