Midtown, New York City
The Ritz Carlton Central Park
A view that native New Yorkers would die for
What it is
Timeless and classy, with well-practiced service and a great location.
What it isn't
Hip and happening.
What we think
The Ritz-Carlton on the southern edge of the park opened in 2001, but it seems like it’s been there forever—thanks to its top-hatted doormen, cozy, wood-paneled lobby and old school bartenders. That’s the Ritz-Carlton’s trademark traditionalism, which is this hotel’s key draw, along with impeccable service and a perfect location. The carriage horses of Central Park are stationed right across the street, and you’re a few blocks’ walk from both the Theater District and Fifth Avenue shopping. Some rooms have splendid park views; all of them (there’s a total of 259 rooms and suites) are spacious, starting at 425 square feet, and have marble baths and classic furniture in tones of yellow and gold. The hotel is also known for its La Prairie Spa, one of the city’s top choices for beauty treatments.
You're here because
You want traditional comfort and a top-notch location—and you love to walk in the park.
