Wythe Hotel

Style Star

What it is

A circa 1901 barrel factory transformed into one of Brooklyn’s best boutique hotels, with loft-like guest rooms, a French brasserie and show-stopping rooftop bar.

What it isn't

Equipped with its own spa or pool. But the scene is so abuzz with creatives from near and far, you won’t miss it.

What we think

The vision wunderkinds have of New York apartments when they move to the city—soaring ceilings, brick walls, and oversized, industrial windows that allow bountiful daylight to flow—is alive and well at Wythe, which has perfected the art of urban cool. The 260 square foot Studio King rooms are adorned in Brooklyn-inspired toile wallpaper (yes, those are water towers); 13-foot-hall pine ceilings; heated polished concrete flooring; rainfall showers; and arched windows that peer out on the cityscape. For the “I’ve Made it Here, I Can Make it Anywhere” experience, book the Penthouse Loft; you’ll have a panorama of Manhattan from your floor to ceiling windows and a modernist space larger than most New York apartments at 1,350 square feet.

You're here because

The hotel has a serious commitment to sustainability, with programs that do everything from compost food waste to restore oyster populations in New York Harbor.

The Moment

You know from the moment you step foot in it that the hotel’s restaurant, Le Crocodile, is the place people go to see and be seen. And to eat. Oh, to eat. This roast chicken with herb jus and frites is arguably the best dinner you’ve had in months.

Restaurants & Bars

Le Crocodile - Sprawling spot serving French fare, wine & cocktails in an easygoing setting.

Bar Blondeau - With unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, Bar Blondeau features a seafood-forward menu with French, Spanish and Portuguese influences, complementing an international selection of natural wines from up-and-coming wine regions, as well as signature cocktails, frozen drinks and zero proof beverages.

Location

A block from the East River waterfront on Wythe Avenue, and three blocks from Smorgasburg (the seasonal outdoor food market that’s an unmissable foodie favorite).
