Amagansett, New York
The Roundtree, Amagansett
Storied Stunner
What it is
A new, uber chic 15-room retreat in the Hamptons on a two-acre 18th century farm, with insider beach access, a beach buggy, and included perks galore (including breakfast).
What it isn't
Just for adults. Children are catered to here, from the s’mores by the fire and loaner sandcastle building accoutrement to the Lemonade Stand program that lets them test out their entrepreneurial skills.
What we think
Amagansett has always felt like an insider’s secret. Not nearly as thronged as Southampton, but just as Fabulous with a capital F. Even the “standard” room here feels like home, thanks to ultra luxe touches like rain showerheads, Frette linens, Matouk robes, a pillow menu, and mini bars curated just for you (plus staff you can text should you feel a craving for, say, popcorn and just-baked cookies for your in-room movie night, delivered to your door). Rooms begin at 250 square feet; for an even more expansive space, we love the 400 square foot suites in their renovated barn. Each has a private outdoor entrance and soaring cathedral ceilings that make them feel even larger.
You're here because
Your dog is part of the family, and The Roundtree, Amagansett agrees…they’ll welcome Mr. Fluffy with open paws (plus dog beds, water bowls, treats, and more for a small fee).
The Moment
You’re exhausted from a day of sun and fun on the shore. Blessedly, the hotel has thought of everything: including afternoon tea and fresh-from-the-oven cookies awaiting you as you haul your sandy toes home. Bliss.
