A new 22-room gem in an 1842 private home, with a heated outdoor pool and locavore Jean-Georges restaurant.

Artless. The hotel is as well-curated as a Chelsea gallery, with a collection put together by gallerist Christine Wächter that includes works by Margeaux Walter and Ed Cohen.
What we think
Hamptons-bound New Yorkers squealed with delight in their sun hats when Topping Rose House opened. Not that the restaurants Out East left anything to be desired, but Jean-Georges takes things to the next level (currently on the menu: roasted Maine lobster with carrot-habanero emulsion and 28-day dry aged ribeye for two, with habanero hot sauce butter). Guest rooms are no less extraordinary, as noted by the boldfaced-name brands you’ll find in them: Matouk (towels); Frette (bed linens); Chadsworth & Haig (robes); and Farmaesthetics (toiletries). Then, there’s the service: you can customize your mini bar before arrival, and there’s 24-hour room service for those 3 a.m. jaunts to the beach under the full moon.
