Hutton Brickyards

Timeless Style

What it is

An artful new reprieve on the banks of the Hudson River, with 73 acres of modernist cabins and cottages, organic spa treatments and waterside saunas.

What it isn't

Hangry. Don’t miss at least one dinner at their Pavilion restaurant, a wood-fired place helmed by Baltahzar and Minetta Tavern alum chef Dan Silverman. (Our dish pick: the cedar-planked steelhead trout served with currant-pine nut relish).

What we think

The tumbledown site of the once-booming Hutton Brick Works Company is now a New Yorker’s fever dream sprung to life: a luxe 31-cabin stay and event space that abounds with Instagrammable architecture and activities, less than a two hour drive from Manhattan. Book a pine-walled Forest Queen Cabin, as tightly organized as a sailboat, for all you need within one well-curated space (including a fold-down futon bed, AC, a mini fridge, bluetooth speaker and a loaner tablet for all your service needs). Riverview King Cabins are arguably more picturesque, though, thanks to their floor-to-ceiling gabled glass walls that peep out on the Hudson flowing dreamily by. Oh, did we mention you can hoist a “thirsty” flag to order afternoon cocktails delivered to your cabin? Heaven.

You're here because

Each stay includes daily breakfasts which you order via an en-suite tablet and find delivered to your door, and (bonus) they’re as local as it gets, with produce and dairy products from surrounding Hudson Valley farms.

The Moment

After a morning hiking in the freshest possible air, you #treatyourself to a mood-boosting Shiatsu massage...although honestly, after the day you’ve had, you’re not sure your mood can get any higher.

Restaurants & Bars

The River Pavilion - Open-air restaurant pavilion located on the banks of the Hudson River

Location

Just a couple blocks from 1873 Cordts Mansion, on a calm waterside inlet of the Hudson River just 96 miles north of Manhattan. Train fans will want to stop in at the Trolley Museum of New York to ogle real, preserved New York City trolleys from as far back as 1917.
