Farmington, Pennsylvania
Nemacolin
Hilltop High Life
What it is
A sprawling resort on 2,000 acres, with multiple lodging types, 14 unforgettable bars and restaurants, a holistic center and spa, Pete Dye golf course, and so much more.
What it isn't
Corporate. The resort is famously owned by one industrious family, whose youngest generations have helped transform it into an indulgent mecca for today’s glitterati.
What we think
Whatever you’re longing for from your Pennsylvania getaway, Nemacolin no doubt has it. Activities that range from indoor axe-throwing to watercolor classes? Check. Sporting choices that span from a 150-acre Rod & Range Club to championship golf? You bet. But our favorite thing about Nemacolin might just be that it contains all manner of lodging options, whether you want to stay in the new, adults only Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Falling Rock—which has butler service and a rooftop infinity pool overlooking the Laurel Highlands; Tudor-style Grand Lodge; 22 modern estate homes; or the Chateau (currently undergoing a jaw-dropping revamp.) Whatever option you pick, expect ultra luxe amenities; Dyson hair dryers and Nespresso machines are just the beginning of the pampering here.
You're here because
You’re feeling lucky, and the resort is home to an adults only casino where slots and table games like blackjack await.
The Moment
Bellied up to the gleaming round bar at Circle Bar & The Study, you could swear you see a young Ernest Hemingway in the stool across from you, sipping a scotch and soda. Like the rest of this resort, it’s cinematic to the core.
