Ocean House

A blend of modern luxury and Victorian charm

What it is

A 19th-century beachfront hotel that’s been revamped to its former glory.

What it isn't

A young crowd or a lively scene.

What we think

Located on the bluffs of Watch Hill, Ocean House is a grand Victorian resort that’s been restored to its former glory thanks to a multi-million dollar renovation. The 13-acre property overlooks a stretch of private beach making for some amazing views. Among the vast property, you’ll find a manicured croquet lawn, putting green and beachfront fire pit. And, during the summer months, luxury cabanas are yours for the taking down at the beach. This is also a great choice for foodies, since the hotel’s Center for Wine and Culinary Arts has almost a dozen culinary classes for your choosing. Inside, the 49 rooms and 16 suites and elegant and peaceful with a distinctly homey look and feel. Though the standard rooms definitely aren’t small (beginning at about 400 square feet), it definitely pays to upgrade to one of the deluxe rooms which start at 500 square feet, and have deep-soaking tubs and water views. For couples planning to tie the knot, the hotel is known for its amazing weddings!
