Lacking in perks. Guests are treated to sumptuous hot breakfasts—including locally roasted Black Oak coffee—and an early evening aperitif hour (we recommend taking your Aperol spritz under the towering redwoods).

If you’ve ever longed for the homeyness of a great short term rental with the doting staff of a boutique hotel, The Stavrand is your spot. Guest rooms are tucked in a 1922 estate and newly revamped or built outbuildings, and each one was so lovingly designed it appears to have sprung from an Anthropologie catalog—with custom art and storied antiques at every turn. We love the Cazadero King rooms (ask for one with a flickering gas fireplace) as well as Cazadero King Cedar Tub, where you’ll have your very own cedar hot tub on your private patio, your own separate entrance, and a gas fireplace that’s perfect for cozying up with a board game from the lending library.

The Moment
