Twin Farms

Abundant Romance

What it is

A legendary all-inclusive retreat on 300 acres once owned by Sinclair Lewis, with 20 jaw-dropping rooms and cottages plus an exquisite spa and dining program.

What it isn't

For kids. The adults-only policy all but guarantees a tranquil vibe.

What we think

There are no menus at Twin Farms—a testament to the circa 1795 resort’s highly curated vibe. Here, the chefs and sommeliers tailor all dishes and drinks to your every whim, whether you’re craving porcini poached Vermont turnkey or tamari grilled Cavendish quail. Rooms are no less intricately envisioned; among our favorites are Morrocan-themed Meadow cottage (complete with a tented bedroom ceiling and pedestal tub perched over field and forest) and the 3,000-square foot Chalet, outfitted with a circular mosaic-lined shower, Burgundian limestone flooring from the 18th century, soaking tub and two fireplaces. You can’t go wrong with any stay here; every room is tricked out with downy feather beds wrapped in Anichi artisanal linens; fireplaces; stocked fridges (all gratis, of course); and games galore (Stave jigsaw puzzle, anyone?).

You're here because

Service is truly exemplary—you can take advantage of complimentary unpacking (and then packing) services, same-day laundry (also free). And expect a housemade confection to arrive each evening for the sweetest possible nightcap.

The Moment

You never would have expected to find a Japanese furo, or piping hot bath, in rural Vermont, but then again, the spa here has defined unexpected, with treatments designed by state native Tata Harper and glass brick steam rooms at-the-ready. After your Peloton workout, you indulge in a honey bee scrub down—with local honey, natch. When it’s done you feel like the best possible version of you, and sweeter than ever.

Restaurants & Bars

Twin Farms dining is customized just for you. Focusing on seasonal and local ingredients, each dish is a piece of art. Choose to dine in the main dining room or anywhere else on the property. All meals are included in your rate.

The Pub - The sommelier will help you pick wines from the 15,000 bottle wine cellar.
