Faena Hotel Buenos Aires

Theatrical and thrilling in the heart of happening BA

What it is

A Michelin-star dessert of a hotel. Decked out in decadent lacquered red and black Philippe Starck interiors.

What it isn't

A quiet cloister—at Faena you’re in the heart of the performance.

What we think

The contemporary pizazz that has continued to make both Faena hotels a must-visit for any hip jetsetters is alive and well here. Hermit-crabbing an old granary in Puerto Madero, Faena has utilized the soaring ceilings and commanding presence of its illustrious shell to maximal theatrical effect. Take one stroll down the black-and-red vestibule towards reception and you’ll feel its extraordinary heat. Couple that with sexy cabaret performances and a gathering of local socialites and you get an atmosphere as intoxicating as the hotel’s unrivalled Malbec collection. Backstage, rooms are red and white, with neutral floors and an abundance of natural light. They are a cross between the lobby’s artistic flare and a more traditional Belle Epoque style, with generous views overlooking Monserrat, the Sarmiento frigate museum and Buenos Aires’ very own waterside nature reserve.

You're here because

The Faena is a blend of all things spicy and sexy—and you want a taste when you’re in BA.

The Moment

Watching the daring postures of the Faena’s tango performers, Rojo Tango, strike a dashing silhouette against the red velvet backdrop of El Cabaret. Entranced, you finish your glass of Trivento, and lean in closer.

Location

In Puerto Madero, nuzzling the Argentine coastline. Multiple museums and theaters are stone-throws, such as the National Museum of Fine Art and the Teatro Colon, and the area is filled with strollable streets and pleasant parks. The international airport is a forty-five minute drive.
