Country Club Lima Hotel

The Pride of Peru

What it is

A 1927 grande dame with 70 tranquil rooms, an outdoor pool and spa, plus access to Lima Golf Club.

What it isn't

Peckish. The property is home to what’s arguably the best restaurant in the nation, Perroquet, where Peruvian classics meet global inspiration (on the menu now: fettuccine with strip roast ragout).

What we think

Icons are iconic for good reason—and Country Club Lima Hotel is Iconic with a capital I. Take, for example the stained glass domed ceiling gleaming over the pianist tinkling the ivories at the grand piano. Or the fact that Nelson Rockefeller holed up here in his southern sojourns. It will still pamper any number of billionaires today, thanks to oversized rooms (starting at 430 square feet) with gleaming wood floors, marble bathrooms and finishes, and exultant orchids and art at every turn. Your ne plus ultra option? The 968-square-foot Dom Perignon Suite, fitted like your own private estate, with tufted Chesterfield sofas in the living room, gilt antique sideboards, and, yes, a champagne bar filled with Dom.

You're here because

John Wayne and his Peruvian wife Pilar Pallete stayed here in the 1950s, and you’ve loved him since he said: “Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.”

The Moment

Cuddled up in your leather armchair below paneled wood in their aptly named English Bar, you do the “When in Peru” thing and order another Pisco Sour. And oh, it was the best decision of your day: light as air, fluffy as sea foam.

Restaurants & Bars

Perroquet - Authentic Peruvian food and the best of international cuisine

Bar Ingles - Perfect setting for intimate encounters and conversations, accompanied by one of the best-known Pisco sours in the capital

Stained Glass Windows - Tea, juices, lite-bites and live music

The heart of Lima’s embassy district, a block from the Lima Golf Club and a quick walk from the ancient pyramids of Huaca Huallamarca.
