Magnificent Mile, Chicago
Park Hyatt Chicago
Sleek and Stylish
What it is
A 146-room, 36-suite respite in a gleaming tower overlooking Lake Michigan, with an indoor pool and spa, restaurant Francophiles love, omakase counter and a garden-fringed terrace bar.
What it isn't
All work and no wellness. The hotel’s Wellbeing and Mindfulness Suites would satisfy Gwyneth Paltrow herself with their smart gyms, sound machines, rain showers in the spa-like bathroom, and more—all within a roomy 830 square foot floor plan.
What we think
One of the most glittering jewels in Chicago’s crown, Park Hyatt Chicago is Indulgent with a capital I. Even the “starter” room category is plush: 1 King Bed with City View rooms have sculptural king beds, locally made artwork, soaking tubs and rain showers, and even window seats within their 390 square foot floor plans. We love the 1 King Bed with Lake View rooms; the larger 460 square foot floor plan feels particularly expansive with the turquoise waters of Lake Michigan shimmering boundlessly out the window. Families love the Water Tower Terrace Suite for its separate living room and private balcony that peers out on Chicago’s limestone Water Tower, built in 1869…a throwback of Old Chicago that still captivates today. Do not miss at least one intimate sushi dinner with the chefs at NoMI Omakase; fish and many other ingredients are flown in direct from Japan and dishes might include A5 Wagyu Aburi Nigiri torched with white truffle “snow.”
You're here because
The hotel is truly pet friendly: dogs under 50 pounds are welcomed with open paws, and treated to a dog bed, water bowl, and treats, for a fee.
At twilight on the 7th-floor terrace at NoMI Garden, you feel like you own the city...the skyline lights seem to cast each and every guest in a transfixing glow. Plus, where else can you nosh on prosciutto beignets with spiced aioli and sip Billecart-Salmon champagne with such unfettered abandon?
