What do John F. Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth II and Justin Bieber have in common? It’s not a bad joke. They’re all onetime guests of this ulta-luxury hotel. And no wonder: the word “no” is famously not in the staffers’ lexicon. Guest rooms are well-worthy of royals, thanks to glimmering crystal chandeliers, gilt and antique finishes and a free (non-alcoholic) minibar they can raid at their leisure. Upgrade to a Junior Suite for a marble bathroom complete with heated floors (the ultimate luxury) and a prime overlook on the State Opera. Of the six on-site restaurants, you can’t miss the red damask-lined dining room of Rote Bar, where you’ll sup on black forest cake by candlelight as the pianist plays into the night.
