Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo
Monte Carlo, Monaco
What it is
Majestic, quiet grandeur amidst Monte Carlo’s buzz.
What it isn't
In the center of the action—you’re around the block from the heart of the scene.
What we think
Just across the street from its big sister, the Hôtel de Paris, the similarly spectacular Hermitage epitomizes that certain unworried Riviera elegance. Guests enter into a Belle Epoque lobby with a bubbling fountain, gilded cherub sconces and a stained glass cupola designed by Gustave Eiffel. Opulence is everywhere: crown moldings, marble floors, lavish textiles and bouquets of fresh flowers on seemingly every table. Despite the regal setting, the staff are unpretentious and helpful, remembering guests by name. The 280 rooms are elegant and beautifully decorated in an array of styles (when booking, specify if you prefer modern or period décor.) Guests have privileged access to the casino, the Olympic-sized outdoor pool, the Monte-Carlo Beach Club, and the Thermes Marins spa nearby. The Hôtel Hermitage has two restaurants and three bars on site; be sure to reserve a table on the quiet terrace of Michelin-starred Le Vistamar for local, seasonal seafood and gorgeous views of the harbor and the Rock.
You're here because
After a night out, you prefer to go back to a quiet grand hotel to count your baccarat winnings.
You’re still feeling the Champagne from last night, so you keep things relatively healthy for lunch: grilled sea bass and artichokes on the breezy terrace of L’Hirondelle, overlooking the yachts in the harbor.
In the middle of Monte Carlo, albeit in a quiet corner.
LE VISTAMAR – a 1 Michelin-Starred simple yet chic restaurant by Chef Benoit Witz.
CRYSTAL BAR & TERRACE – Premier wines, creative cocktails and champagnes.
LE LIMÙN - Lobby bar, offering light food and tea-time with home-made pastries.
