Sandy Lane Hotel
What it is
113-room grande dame and winner of too many awards to count, with ultra-pampering service.
What it isn't
Laissez faire. This is prep at its very best.
What we think
If Lily Pulitzer was reincarnated as a hotel, it might very well be this one: rooms are awash in buttoned-up, cheerful prints in pinks and sea greens, each one of which seems to purr: “You’re on vacation, doll. Order a martini.” The 1961 icon was rebuilt entirely and reemerged, like a butterfly from a cocoon, in 2001, with a sweeping spa and 45 holes of golf designed by none other than Tom Fazio, and still looks brand spanking new today. Take a book out to the glorious beachfront chaise lounges in perfect pink and pretend this is real life.
You're here because
The on-site Treehouse Club means your kids will have as much fun as you do, including Arts & Crafts hour, poolside luncheons and al fresco movies—all before 8 p.m. “Nighty Night” (parent’s pick-up).
Your shoulders drop the second you walk into the hotel’s 47,000-square-foot spa, where waterfalls seemingly drop from the sky all the way to the pool. And Margy’s Lift Up facial is better than that actual face lift you were contemplating…
