Hotel Rosa Alpina

Quiet glamour in the heart of the Dolomites

What it is

A charming Daisy Miller-esque guesthouse with a 3-Michelin star restaurant.

What it isn't

A winter retreat. A fresh roster of summer activities makes Rosa Alpina a standout among summer mountain boutiques.

What we think

Dating back to 1850, you might think Rosa Alpina would feel like another one of Europe’s great Grand Dames. However, following the hotel’s acquisition by Relais & Châteaux in 2000 and the recent transition to an official Aman Partner Hotel, the Rosa Alpina is a fine example of contemporary style mixing with prestigious history. Amidst a sleek interior of gray and beige and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, guests will find local Ladin antiques, original wood panelling, and frescoes--including some of deer in the hotel’s exquisite restaurant. The result is a much sought, ne’er achieved harmony that brings the quaint history of the local region to life. Spacious rooms are decorated in the same gorgeous style and some come with balconies facing the sweeping Dolomite terrain.

The hotel’s highlight is the now 3-Michelin star restaurant, St. Hubertus. Helmed for almost 20 years by local chef Norbert Niederkofler, St. Hubertus started out as the hotel’s pizzeria before gradually taking charge. To continue collecting Michelin stars, the restaurant sits at the cutting edge of food fashion, and, like many of the world’s premiere restaurants, has shed its world-sourced pantry in favor of organic produce from local farmers. The result is a menu as unique as its setting: a blend of all good things Italian and Austrian. We can’t imagine two better cuisines to combine.

You're here because

Ski chalets are so generic. Why not go for something truly unique and in a class of its own at the Rosa Alpina?

The Moment

Having chosen a suitable Brunello from St. Hubertus’ award-winning cellar, you look around and notice the candles casting dancing shadows on the deer frescoes and light wood panelling. You can’t think of a better pairing for the deep red of the impending wine.

Restaurants & Bars

Restaurant Gourmet “St. Hubertus” - Awarded two-stars by the Michelin Guide

Restaurant Wine Bar & Grill - A union of tasteful style, researched details, and cozy atmosphere. Grill-specialities, fresh home made pasta, or pizza cooked in wood oven.

Restaurant Fondue Stuben - Experience the warm Ladin culture and customs in our “stuben”, with a traditional evening savouring meat or cheese fondue, and specialties of our regional cuisine

Restaurant Limonaia - The spectacular sight in the forest of firs, peaceful shadows that decrease in the evening, give the ambience of Limonaia a particular character.
